When on vacation, I enjoy going on midnight trips to discover how the surroundings look at night. This is our neighbours house on Fanø, some processing has been done in Lightroom to enhance the sky and the stars.

A beautiful sunset and two great models made this picture. The day was almost over, we had been shooting at another location for a couple of hours and was heading towards the car. Then we looked at this amazing sunset, and with no wind at all we headed down to the beach to setup. My lightstand (Manfrotto Nano 001B) with an umbrella was able to stand without any support or heavy weight, and that was an indication of no wind at all.

I took the portrait of my father in my sisters kitchen at a social gathering. He was just listening in on the discussion around the table, and I was capturing the family.

The other evening when driving home from work, I passed the Carlsberg building here in Copenhagen where I live, and I had actually taken that route home to capture The Elephant Tower. But instead I was greeted with this amazing building.

So I set up the camera to capture several images which I then could process as HDR in Photomatix Pro, and this is the result.

An amazing building built almost 120 years ago.

Cuevas Dels Hams

On my family's vacation to Mallorca, we of course had to visit the famous caves. The name of these caves, Coves dels Hams is derived from the typical form of several formations, looking like fish-hooks.

The water in the subterranean lake called Sea of Venice contains an amount of 2% salt. This proofs, that the lake has a subterranean connection to the sea. The lake contains very small and completely blind crustaceans, which are true cave animals.

The formations are sometimes coloured bluish or greenish, depending on copper oxides. In one part of the cave all formations are broken in the middle, which is a result of former tectonic forces.

Situated at Porto Cristo, in the east of Majorca, they are renowned throughout the world for their delicately ramified dripstone formations. The incomparable beauty of the Caves is heightened by the artistic lighting created by Lorenzo Caldentey, son of the discoverer.

Inside the Caves there are several lakes, the largest being "Sea of Venice".

Photography is allowed, but only without flash. Unlike Cuveas Del Drach where custodians are placed every 20 meters ensuring that absolutely nobody take pictures.

This is my local power station, Avedøreværket. Its located approximately 6 kilometers from my home, and is part of the DONG network of power stations located throughout Denmark.

Avedøre Power Station is situated at Avedøre Holme south of Copenhagen and consists of two power station units, Avedøre Power Station’s Unit 1 from 1990 and Unit 2 from 2001.

The overall production capacity of the two Avedøre Power Station units is 810 Megawatts of electricity and 900 Megawatts of heat. In 2006 the power station generated a net quantity of 4,398 GWh of electricity and a net quantity of 12,172 TJ of district heating.

Avedøre Power Station’s Unit 1 primarily uses coal, while Avedøre Power Station’s Unit 2 can use a wide variety of fuels: natural gas, oil, straw and wood pellets.
